About

Christina Schulte was originally born in Stuttgart, Germany. Early on Chrissy took a strong interest in the performing arts and participated in local music and theater productions. At the age of 8 she started to take classical piano lessons and at the age of 13 singing lessons. She started writing her own pieces at the age of 11. She was strongly influenced by Elton John and other European composers.

Right out of High School she co-wrote a children’s musical with her mother which found great success with the audience. She then became a member of the Drei Groschen Theater in Stuttgart directed by Helmut Herzfeld. Her first album of originals 101.5 was recorded in 1997 produced and sponsored by Continental Airlines in Frankfurt.

A few years later she received a diploma in Jazz/Popular Music and voice performance from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem, Netherlands. There she recorded her first Unplugged CD which was nominated at the annual Singer/Songwriter Festival in Nijmegen in 2000.

After graduating from the Conservatory she moved to New York City in order work with director Richard Scanlon and opera singer Kenneth Scott.

Some of her credits include Dreamgirls (Symphony Space), Lady Macbeth (Producer’s Club), Amateur Night (Apollo Theater), Into The Woods (Northeastern University), Guilty Conscience (Towle Theater, Hammond IN) and A Wonderful Life (Memorial Opera House).

Most recently she performed live as a pianist/vocalist with percussionist Journey Burns and guitarist Joe Villani.
